Seed investors
Seed is the most heavily tagged stage in the database and the one with the most crowded inbox. By this point an investor expects evidence rather than intent, but the bar is evidence of pull — not of scale.
How to read these numbers: 1,000+ of the 5,000+ active investors in the database (20.7%) state an investment stage at all — most describe the sectors they fund and not the stage. The percentage above is therefore a share of those who said, not of every investor. Stages also overlap, because an investor writing “seed to Series A” is counted under both, so shares across all stages add up to more than 100%. No cheque-size figure is published anywhere on this page: cheque size is recorded for too few investors to report honestly.
How to approach this stage
The question a seed investor is actually answering is whether anything is compounding. One retention curve, one cohort that kept using the product, or one channel that works repeatably will outperform a list of logos every time. If you have a number that is genuinely good, put it in the first two lines of the email rather than saving it for slide nine.
Seed is also where stage labels start overlapping in a way that matters for targeting. A large share of investors tagged seed here also tag pre-seed or Series A, which means the same fund appears across adjacent stages rather than sitting in exactly one. Do not treat a seed tag as evidence that a fund will not look earlier or later — check the overlap figures further down this page.
Because the seed market is the deepest, it is also the one where a mismatched send is most obviously wasted. Sector fit does more work than stage fit at this point: a seed fund with no history in your category will pass regardless of how good the metrics are, and it will pass without telling you why.
What else these investors tag themselves
Other stages listed by the same investors. A high overlap means the tag is a range rather than a fixed entry point, and that you should not exclude these investors when targeting an adjacent stage.

Individual investor records — firm, focus and each firm's own contact route — are not published on this page. Upload your deck and SendVC matches you against 5,000+ verified contacts — plus additional investors its AI finds and validates across the web for your specific startup, so the database is the floor of reach rather than the ceiling — then writes a personalized email per investor.
