InsurTech investors
InsurTech investors divide by whether you carry underwriting risk, and that single fact reshapes the entire conversation.
How to approach this segment
State your risk position in the first paragraph. A managing general agent, a full carrier, and a pure software vendor have completely different capital requirements and completely different investor sets. Ambiguity here is the most common reason InsurTech outreach goes unanswered.
Loss ratio is the number that matters if you touch risk at all. If you have too little history to have one, say so and give the proxy you are managing against instead — experienced investors respect that more than an implied claim.
